Who’d have thought that the man
behind cult horror films such as Day of
the Dead, Horror 101, Museum of the Dead
and the television series Creepshow is a
Roger Williams University alumnus?
James Dudelson ’72 is president and
CEO of Taurus Entertainment Company, a feature
film distribution and production company.

Mr. Dudelson has directed or produced dozens
of films and television shows.
At Roger Williams, Mr. Dudelson
majored in fine arts and English. He co-founded
and edited the student newspaper, The Quill, and
participated in a number of theatre productions.
Mr. Dudelson got his start in the
industry at New Line Cinemas – where he
worked his way up from the mail room to division
manager. In 1978, he struck out on his own as
founder and president of Film Gallery Inc. In
1988, he left New York for Los Angeles to become
executive vice president of Fries Entertainment,
the biggest producer of television Movies of the
Week at the time. Finally, in 1998, he formed
Taurus Entertainment, and began his current run
directing and producing horror films.
Currently, Mr. Dudelson is finishing
up one of his many side projects, a law degree
at the University of West Los Angeles School of
Law. |
