Fine Arts and English
Class of '72

Who’d have thought that the man behind cult horror films such as Day of the Dead, Horror 101, Museum of the Dead and the television series Creepshow is a Roger Williams University alumnus?

James Dudelson ’72 is president and CEO of Taurus Entertainment Company, a feature film distribution and production company.

James G. Dudelson '73

Mr. Dudelson has directed or produced dozens of films and television shows.

At Roger Williams, Mr. Dudelson majored in fine arts and English. He co-founded and edited the student newspaper, The Quill, and participated in a number of theatre productions.

Mr. Dudelson got his start in the industry at New Line Cinemas – where he worked his way up from the mail room to division manager. In 1978, he struck out on his own as founder and president of Film Gallery Inc. In 1988, he left New York for Los Angeles to become executive vice president of Fries Entertainment, the biggest producer of television Movies of the Week at the time. Finally, in 1998, he formed Taurus Entertainment, and began his current run directing and producing horror films.

Currently, Mr. Dudelson is finishing up one of his many side projects, a law degree at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law.
